April 2 Sermon: Rev. Nina D. Grey Voices from the Congregation Generosity and the Spirit: Reflection on Stewardship Rev. Grey will reflect on the importance of giving for our third principle:
encouragement of spiritual growth and acceptance of one another. Her reflections
are part of our sermon series on our UU Principles. This service marks
the beginning of our 2006 Canvass, Living Our Mission, and we will also
hear the voices and wisdom of some of our lay members. |

April 9 Sermon: Dr. Finley Campbell This morning, Palm Sunday, Dr. Finley Campbell will present "Marching to Jerusalem: the Christian Dialectic of Victory, Defeat and Triumph in Human History -- A Dramatic Sermon". The presentation will be in the form of a dramatic sermon, in three acts: Act I: a re-presentation of Y'shua Ben Joseph and Miriam's triumphal march into Jerusalem on what we now call Palm Sunday. Act II: an application of that march to the historical/human condition in terms of the great trinity: victory, defeat, triumph. And Act III will be the talk back in Chris Moore Parlor as a First Forum. Finley is a member of our church, leader of the Nature of Racism Course,
and co-leader, with Joanne Kent, of the new UU Christian group, which
is part of our spiritual pluralism project, The One and the Many. |

Sermon: Rev. Nina D. Grey Out of the Shadows Life Again! This morning we join in joyful songs, words of promise and ritual as
we announce and celebrate the hope this season brings, its faith festivals
of overcoming and nature's faithful rebirth. All are invited to bring
flowers to this multigenerational gathering for the Annual Flowering of
our Chalice. We will hear the voices of all the generations and special
music from our choir. This marks a new and hope-filled day. Rejoice and
be glad in it!

April 23 Sermon: Rev. Nina D. Grey Eyes to See, Ears to Hear This Earth Sunday invites us to see beneath the surface and hear the
voices of warning as we honor the earth with both appreciation and an
honest observing. In this reflection on our fourth principle, a free responsible
search for truth and meaning, we ask what some earth advocates are saying
to us, and what may be required of us. This is the fourth in a sermon
series on our principles. |

April 30 Sermon: Rev. Nina D. Grey Now What? Our Canvass, Living Our Mission, is complete and we know more about our resources for 2006-2007. It's almost time for our Annual Meeting, and our decisions about the coming church year. One of our faith principles is about just that, the fact that it is the members of our church who shape its vision and its life. This is our fifth UU principle, the right of conscience and the use of the democratic process in our congregations and in society at large. Let's think about what we'll do, now, as we approach our Annual Meeting, and as we think about our civic political responsibilities in this post-primary time.
