Song of Savior: A Unique Multimedia Show

Justice Whitaker, UU Young Adult, world traveler to the Khasi Hills in 2000, and now film school student at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, is the creator of an exciting performance art piece, Song of Savior. The 512 Collective, Justice's creative collaborative out of New York City, is touring the country with Song of Savior this summer. Song of Savior is an inspirational piece of performance art combining music, live theatre and film to explore the relationship between theology and liberation, and question the role of religion and spirituality in defining freedom and democracy in our modern world. Song of Savior debuted at General Assembly in Long Beach, and is now touring the West Coast, Canada and the midwest this summer.

Could a Little Child Lead You? Inquiries on Leading and Following

One of the famous prophets honored in our tradition foretold that the lion would lie down with the lamb...and "a little child will lead them." Margaret Huyck and Ken Schug attended the UU Midwest Leadership in July. They will share what they learned about good leadership in a religious community. What qualities you are looking for in your religious leaders? Are you ready to be such a leader?

Margaret Huyck, Ph.D. is the President of the Congregation and a Professor of Psychology at Illinois Institute of Technology. Kenneth Schug, Ph.D. is the President-Elect of the Congregation, and a Professor of Chemistry at IIT.

Rev. Nina D. Grey

Faith In Action

Inspired by the words and example of Holly Near, 2004 UUA General Assembly Ware Lecturer, and others who are making a difference, Rev. Grey will lead us in thinking about how as Unitarian Universalists we can relate our faith to our deeds, for the sake of all the generations.

Honest Tea

"Honesty is the best policy" is an accepted axiom, and generally good advice. But we don't always tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth, do we? In times of social and political skepticism, even brand names take on special meaning.
