Deepening Bonds
We will take this Sunday, five days before Valentine's Day, to think about sustaining and deepening relational bonds in the family, in friendships, in church and in other settings. In this Black History month, one of our foci will be deepening bonds in a multiracial church and world. We will ask what are some kinds of conversation and actions that can help us honor diversity and strengthen unity. One resource will be Beverly Daniel Tatum's book Why Are All The Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?, which is on Rev. Grey's reading list for her next Greenfield Group study group meeting in April.

President's Day Reflections
I remember the years when we honored George Washington's and Abraham Lincoln's birthdays separately. On this day before President's Day, we think about dimensions of patriotism from our faith's perspectives. What might our religion have to say to government in these troubled times?

A Mystery Sermon
This month I will be preparing for and attending my Doctor of Ministry class
on Theological and Ethical Reflections on the Practice of Ministry. I wonder
what creativity or wisdom my study might offer for our congregation's ministry?
Let's be surprised together.
