Work's Purposes and Limits
Sermon: Rev. Nina D. Grey
Join us in a Labor Day Celebration as we explore the purposes and limits of work as both means and ends. We will think about the meanings and uses of work and the possible and real life conditions of workers in many arenas. We will ask, how does or might our religious community intersect with the life and needs of workers.

Re-gathering the Waters of Interdependence
Homily: Rev. Marlene R. Walker
Worship Co-Leaders: Revs. Nina Grey and David Arksey
Each September we re-gather as a congregation from our summer journeys near and far. One of our special services is this annual water communion and homecoming. We bring water, symbolically or in its actual wetness, from our summer travels to represent our re-gathering together as a community of faith. What is it about water that connects us and reminds us of Interdependence? One of our core Unitarian Universalist principles is "Respect for the Interdependent Web of all Existence of which we are part". Join us as we celebrate our interdependence each with the other and with all that is. This Sunday is also the beginning of our New Church School year and the inauguration of our new Way Cool Sunday School program. What a great way to begin with this rousing Intergenerational Water Service!

Called to Reconciliation
Sermon: Rev. Nina D. Grey
The work and tasks of the high holy days are about self-reflection and forgiveness. Engaging in these brings us more closely in line with our own best values and heals relationships with self, others, and that which claims our highest devotion. During this time of highest devotion in the Jewish calendar we turn to the Jewish heritage, one of the several sources of our living tradition.

Tending Relationships is Soul Work
Sermon: Rev. Nina D. Grey
This reflection will be the first in a series which relate human development
and spiritual growth. Here we will focus on the ways in which tending community
and tending family can overlap.
