Their Creative Spirit

Worship Leader: Rev. Nina Grey

Worship Associates: Joan Staples & Kennie James

Today, in honor of Women's History Month, we think about the creative spirits of some women who have changed lives. We will remember Gwendolyn Brooks and we will honor Margaret Burroughs, and we will take time to think of some other women in history, too, who have made a difference. The service will include a special celebration of Margaret Burroughs, who will visit our congregation this morning. We will receive some gifts of Ms. Burroughs' prints, and our celebration will continue in our social hour.

A Faith for All Seasons

Worship Leader: Rev. Nina Grey

Worship Associate: Kennie James

I thought about calling this canvass sermon "A Springtime Faith" because of springtime's images of growing and hope, but then, I thought, no, ours is a faith for all seasons. It helps us weather hard times as well as grow new possibilities. Who makes it a faith for all seasons? How and why? Can we become an even more sustaining, more resilient, more inspiring faith? Let's think on these things.

9:05 am: Adult RE: "The Nature of Racism"

11:45 am: First Forum: What is the Committee on Ministry?

Join with the Committee on Ministry to learn about the work of this committee, established by the congregation for the enhancement of the ministry of the whole church. Learn about a UU Review and Renewal process. The committee will share the work it has done so far, to establish its own mission, vision, and covenant. We will reflect on ways that the Committee on Ministry can work with the various aspects of church life. We will think about how the work of the Committee on Ministry is related to the work of the Committee on Sundays, Etc.

11:45 am: Adult RE: "The Words and Spirit of Howard Thurman." Rev. Marlene Walker, facilitator
