January 9, 2000: The Education of God: Job

Worship Leaders: The Revs. David & Beverly Bumbaugh

For centuries, scholars have puzzled over the meaning of the Book of Job: how it came to be in the Hebrew Scriptures; what it tells us about the nature of the universe and the meaning of our existence. This sermon will explore the ancient story from a different perspective, attempting to discover what God may have learned from his encounter with Job, that pious man from the land of Uz.

Revs. David and Beverly Bumbaugh have served churches in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Virginia, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Both are retired from the parish ministry and are currently ministers emeritae of the Unitarian Church in Summit New Jersey. David is currently Associate Professor of Ministry and Director of Field Education at Meadville/Lombard.
