Ministerial Search Committee Gets List of Candidates

On December 14, the Ministerial Search Committee received a list of 15 candidates for the Senior Minister position, two of whom are a husband-wife team, from Lori Pederson, Ministerial Settlement Representative for the UU's Midwest District.

By the time you read this, the Committee will have studied the resumes and have sent out our Packet describing our church and telling what we want in a Minister to all these candidates who express an interest in receiving them. They, in turn, will send us their packets describing their accomplishments and visions of Ministry.

Then, during January, we will decide which of these we are really interested in and check their references thoroughly. We will then make arrangements to hear those 3-4 who pass muster preach at some local UU churches.

We will keep you apprised of all the steps in the search process as we go through them.

Earlier this month, we invited Bill Murry, President of Meadville/Lombard, to give his views on Ministry. Among the topics discussed was the potential tension between senior ministers and ministers of religious education.

We also have invited Dennis Daniel and Sydney Wilde to give us their views on Ministry too. They will meet with us sometime this month.
