Gathering of Midwestern UUs Set for Peoria With a theme of Both Sides Now: Working through the Light and the Shadow, the Annual Assembly of the Central Midwest District will meet in Peoria April 16-18. The theme speaker is Dr. Lori Russell-Chapin, of Bradley University in Peoria, who has done much work in Jungian psychology. Also featured at this years assembly is the awarding of CMWDs 1999 Unsung UU award to our own Polly McCoo. In addition to the theme presentation, the program will feature worship services, workshops on subjects of interest to churches, and social events. Brochures are available in the Church Office. We are entitled to three delegates to this meeting. Making Justice Global 1999 UU-UNO Intergenerational Seminar presented in conjunction with the UUA Washington Office for Faith in Action & UU Service Committee is April 22 - April 25 in Washington, DC. The program includes a keynote address by the Rev. Dr. William F. Schulz, Executive Director, Amnesty International USA, presentation by Dr. Valora Washington, Executive Director, UU Service Committee, meetings with legislators, a worship service at All Souls Church Unitarian in Washington. New Summer Camp for UU Adults Saug-For All is a new Summer Camp for UU Adults, 21 or over in Saugatuck, MI June 20 - 25. This week-long summer adventure is filled with opportunities for fun, fellowship, personal growth and spiritual enrichment. The camp is located on a breathtaking site on the dunes of Lake Michigan with a half-mile long private beach and forested acres. Campers are housed in cabins that are rustic but comfortable. Mornings, campers attend workshops with a variety of topics/ themes from which to choose. Afternoons provide a variety of recreational and craft activities as well as 1-day workshops. Evenings start with a vesper service, followed by campfires, dancing, coffeehouse, and talent show.
