Social Concerns Annual Meeting Once upon a time, Illinois had cumulative voting for its state House of Representatives.There is now a movement to restore cumulative voting for the Illinois General Assembly and initiate it elsewhere. During the first hour of this years U.U. Social Concerns annual meeting, Dan Johnson-Weinberger will lead a presentation and discussion of "The Drive to Revive Cumulative Voting." The program was arranged by the organizations Making Democracy Work Task Force. The U.U. Social Concerns annual meeting, which will include light refreshments, will be held Sunday, December 6, from 3 to 6 p.m., in Chris Moore Parlor at the First Unitarian Church. Following the program portion of the meeting, the organizations annual business meeting will take place. All are welcome. Winter Institute Meadville/Lombard Theological School presents its Winter Institute on "Congregation as Theological School: Adult Religious Education for the 21st Century." Presenters are Rebecca Parker and William R. Murry. The Institute will be held February 18-21, 1999 in Madison, Wis. Registration deadline is January 15, 1999.
