I’m pleased to share with you some new developments in my life. While my long term future is not yet completely defined, some changes are in store. I have recently accepted the offer of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greater Bridgeport, Connecticut, to become their Interim Minister beginning in January.
I have been consulting with a number of organizations during the last six months on organizational development issues, and have fully explored a number of career options for myself. Rather than feeling these new efforts calling me in a different direction, however, I have found instead a renewed commitment to parish ministry.
Sometimes it takes stepping aside from something to bring the perspective that is needed for recommitment. Having begun so young in my ministerial career, it was important to have a chance to look at those things I had passed by earlier. I have come to realize again what parish ministry offers that can be found nowhere else, and also have gained a renewed understanding of what I have to offer to a parish.
I want to thank you again for all the support you have given me in my life’s journey, and I hope you will stay in touch and keep me informed on what is happening in your own.
