The church office staff would like all members and friends to know that we are here to help. We have both the facilities and the time to help with almost any type of church work. We have modern equipment and are experienced with both large and small office jobs. We may be able to help with word processing, copying, mailings, etc.

Examples of what we can do for you:

  • Type your meeting minutes and send them to all members in your group.
  • Send reminder mailings with agendas prior to your meeting.
  • Copy documents for your meeting.
  • Creating and/or copying and/or mailing any type of invitations or notices.

Please call on us anytime to help with your project. You can contact either John Else or Cecilia Briscoe, our office assistant, to schedule this work.

The church office hours are:

Mon. -Thu.: 9:00 am to 9:00pm
Friday: 9:00 am to 6:30pm
Saturday: 8:30pm to 3:00pm
Sunday: 9:30 am to 1:00pm

Councils, Committees and Task Forces

The church office is attempting to keep track of all committee participation. We are keeping a database with all the church committees, councils and task forces with their respective chairs, co-chairs and members. This list will enable the office to do mailings related to committee work, send out announcements of meetings and keep up to date on who the appropriate contact is for information or questions relative to a specific committee. This list is being kept in conjunction with the Committee on Congregational Participation. To keep this list updated, we would like all chairs or co-chairs to contact the church office to let us know of any changes in membership or leadership in their group.

Procedures Q & A

Q. How do I get an announcement in the Order of Service?

A. You can either call the church office or leave a clearly written note in Cecilia Briscoe, our Administrative Assistant’s, mailbox in the office. We will do our best to include it. The deadline for announcements in the Order of Service is the end of the day on Wednesday for that Sunday's Service.

Q. How do I schedule a room or event at the church?

A. If you would like to use one of the church rooms for your meeting or event, you may either call the church office or fill out an event form, available in the church office, and leave it in the Administrative Assistant’s mailbox in the church office. We will be able to inform you if the room you want is available, if there will be any costs such as custodial service and what other meetings or events might be taking place at the time you want. The rooms in the church are also rented to groups outside the church, so please contact the office as far in advance as possible. We will automatically include your meeting or event in the Order of Service - Schedule of Events.

Q. How do I get something in the Newsletter?

A. You may submit your article by leaving a clearly labeled document or floppy disk in the Newsletter mailbox. You may also e-mail your article to the church office (firstu@enteract.com). The preferred format is on floppy disk or e-mail. It is very important that you include your name on the article. The deadline for submitting an article is always on the 15th of the month prior to the published month (i.e. March 15 for the April Newsletter).

Q. How do I buy things for church related activities?

A. If you need supplies, copies, etc. for church activities, please check with the church office — we may already have what you need or are easily capable of getting it. If not, you may purchase these things and get reimbursed by the church — keep in mind you must have a receipt. Please request from the church administrator a tax exempt letter before going out to buy anything for the church. We are tax exempt and do not have to pay state sales tax. To get reimbursed, please complete a check request form, available in the church administrator’s office, listing the budget to which the expense should be charged. Submit the request to the church administrator. Checks are written each Wednesday and signed by Thursday afternoon.

Q. How do I best communicate with the church office?

A. If you have any requests or questions for the church office, you may call anytime during church office hours. You may also leave a written note in the church administrator’s mail box. Please include your name and date. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
