Cindy Carroll to
Head Grove Parc Task Force It is with deep regret that I must announce my resignation from the Grove Parc Task Force. I do this because I find that with increasing demands on my time and energy from the Ministerial Search Committee, from projects I am engaging in as Literacy Coordinator at Kennedy-King College, and trying to start an Internet business, I cannot give Grove Parc the attention it deserves. Cindy Carroll will coordinate the volunteer efforts of First Church to help Grove Parc sustain its Circle of Love Drop-in Day Care Center, as well as other programs it wants to develop. In fact, she has really already been doing this for at least the past 3-4 months. So, I urge those of you who wish to engage in an important Community Outreach Program that puts into practice what Unitarian Universalism preaches to talk to Cindy about what you can do to help some of our neighbors in Woodlawn build better lives for themselves and their children. While Im withdrawing from the GP Task Force, I will still do what I can to contribute to Grove Parc. Once the Search Committee settles a on Senior Minister, I hope to spearhead a literacy program for Grove Parc. This relinquishing of the GP Task Force Chair is part of my overall curtailing of church activities. I am also resigning from the Membership Committee and the Worship Associates, in order to concentrate solely on Search Committee activities. |
