The Training Session will be led by David Arksey and will focus on being a Pastoral Presence. We will consider the difference between Social Work and Pastoral Care and discuss how to help those in need without burning-out. We will also organize ourselves (again) into a team to work with the Ministers in order to provide pastoral visits to the housebound on a more regular basis, helping hands during short-term emergencies, and an information network that helps keep the Ministers informed on the state of their congregants. All committee members and others interested in lending a sympathetic ear or a helping hand are invited. You and UU On Tuesdays, May 25, June 1, and June 8, from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm, Dennis and Sydney will be leading a class on Unitarian Universalist beliefs, history and structure.
